Magento installation

Magento 2 is currently not supported!

If you had the free version installed, and you want to install the full, check out this documentation first.

Magento Connect Manager

1
Download the latest installers from our website.
2
If you are using Magento Compilation, turn it off at the System → Tools → Compilation.
3
Go to your admin area, System → Magento Connect → Magento Connect Manager and Log in.

4
Upload the nextend2-pro-magento.tgz and nextend-smart-slider3-pro-magento.tgz to your website in the Magento Connect Manager → Direct package file upload.
5
If you have cache on your website go to the System → Cache Management, and refresh it.
6
Log out , and in again to your admin area.
7
If you used Magento Compilation, turn it back on at the System → Tools → Compilation.
8
Now the Nextend → Smart Slider3 menu will be in your admin menu, and you can start creating your first slider.

If the uploading failed, check out this common error, and if doesn't help either, try out the manual installation method.

Manual installation

1
Download the latest installers from our website.
2
If you are using Magento Compilation, turn it off at the System → Tools → Compilation.
3
Upload all files and folders, as they are in their installer into your website. The only file you won't need from the installer packages is the package.xml.
4
If you have cache on your website, refresh it.
5
Log out, and in again to your admin area, and you will see the Nextend → Smart Slider3 menupoints appearing in your admin menu.

6
If you used Magento Compilation, turn it back on at the System → Tools → Compilation.

Update or Reinstallation

If for some reason you need to reinstall the Smart Slider, or you want to update it, you can do that by deleting the Smart Slider 3 and Nextend 2 extensions from your Magento Connect Manager and install them again, or if you used the Manual installation, then just upload the new files, and overwrite the old ones with them. Your sliders will stay.

If you want to reinstall everything including the database tables, where the settings and the sliders are, it's not enought to delete our tables from your database (nextend2_image_storage, nextend2_section_storage, nextend2_smartslider3_generators, nextend2_smartslider3_sliders, nextend2_smartslider3_slides), but you will also have to go to this database table: core_resource. Look for these rows, and delete them: nextend2_setup, smartslider3_setup

After this it will be like a clean install.
